News from the Office for Research and Development

The Office for Research and Development (ORD) receives information on a daily basis on numerous activities associated with research around the world. The information ranges from grants and funding applications, to scholarships, publications, conferences, new developments, etc. The ORD would like to update you on a regular basis of these applications.

Apart from our regular communications to the Faculties, the Schools, the Faculty Research Committees, CUT Research Groups, etc, we would also like to give you concise access to many of these applications.


NRF Grant: South African / Germany Joint Science and Technology Research

Grants are available from the NRF to support the SA/Germany Joint Science and Technology Research Programme.

Who may apply?

This call is open to working researchers residing in South Africa and affiliated with a recognised higher education or research institution such as a university of technology. The applicant must be a South African Citizen or have permanent residence. An application must designate two principal investigators, one in South Africa and one in Germany, who will bear the main responsibility for the project, including its technical and administrative coordination as well as scientific and financial reporting. The South African principal investigator must be in possession of a Ph.D., and applicants may represent any recognised field of study, including both the natural and social sciences, as well as the humanities and engineering.
